Jesse Pierce Wilson

Jesse Pierce Wilson, 94, of Fayetteville, Ark. passed away Thursday, Feb. 12, 2015. He was born Jan. 27, 1921 in Bruno, Ark. and was the youngest of seven children born to Jesse Pierce Wilson Sr. and Laura Angel Wilson. Jesse played basketball for the Razorbacks and was elected captain at the end of his junior year. After serving in WWII as an officer in Patton's Third Army, Jesse returned to the University of Arkansas, where he earned a BS in agriculture and married his college sweetheart, Mildred Mae Riggs. Jesse retired in 1982 after 20 years as an agriculturist with the Occidental Chemical Corporation. He was a member of the Arkansas Alumni Association, the Arkansas Letterman's Club, the World War II 11th Armored Division Association and a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Heber Springs. Jesse is survived by his wife of 68 years, Mildred Riggs Wilson of Fayetteville; son, Randy Allen Wilson of Rancho Mirage, Calif.; daughter, Carol Jean Wilson Jordan of Friendswood, Texas and grandchildren, Mark Pierce Wilson, Jennifer Lash Wilson, Thomas Joseph (T.J.) Jordan and Laura Allison Jordan. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 16 at the Riggs Family Cemetery in Morrilton, Ark. Arrangements are by Harris Funeral Home of Morrilton.
