Thurmaleen Ward

Thurmaleen Ward, 89, of Benton, Ark. died Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2015. She was born Dec. 22, 1925 to the late Thurman and Edith Reed. Thurmaleen was a lifetime member of the Temple Baptist Church of Little Rock and was president of WMA for years. She retired from Worthen Bank. Her final years were spent at Mt. Carmel Assisted Living in Benton. As was her nature, she was always available for advice to staff and residents. She always looked forward with no regrets and lifted the spirits of those around her. She considered Mt. Carmel as family. Thurmaleen was preceeded in death by her husband, Charles E. Ward. She is survived by her sons, Ronald Ward of Bryant and Darrell Ward and wife, Melissa of Little Rock; grandchildren, Steven Ward, Jody Ward (Ariel) and Keren Cloud (Russ); seven great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2015 at Griffin Leggett Forest Hills Funeral Home, 10200 Highway 5 North, Alexander, AR 72002. Funeral services will immediately follow visitation at the funeral home. Entombment will be at Griffin Leggett Forest Hills Memorial Park.
