Anne Zehnder

Anne Zehnder, 85, of Rogers, passed away on February 12, 2015. She was born September 2, 1929 in Wichita, Kan. to the late Ernest Truman and Lily Leona (Watkins) Bruner. She was the wife of Leo C. Zehnder until his death in 1984. Anne came to Northwest Arkansas from California in 1975. She enjoyed exercise and could frequently be seen at the Rogers Activity Center. She will always be remembered as a friend to animals. She owned and cared for many animals throughout her life, and her home was known as the "Zehnder Zoo". Survivors include a daughter, Laurie Kester of Rogers; a brother, Robert Bruner and wife JoAnne; a sister, Norma Jean Crotser; a daughter-in-law, Cathy Zehnder; grandchildren, Rich, Jessica, Jayme (Michael), April (Davey); great-grandchildren, Andrew, Kaerina, Veronica, Maddy, Ashton, Braydon, Luke, Mason, Dalton; nephews, Donny and Tommy Bruner; a niece, Lynn Crotser and Meesha, a very special cat. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; a son, Stephen Robert Zehnder; brother, Bud Nees; brother-in-law, Bob Crotser; nephew, Bobby Bruner; and Elizabeth (Ma) Nees. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Circle of Life Hospice at 901 Jones Rd, Springdale, Ark. 72762, and the Rogers Animal Shelter at 2935 W Oak St, Rogers, Ark. 72758. Cremation arrangements are by Rollins Funeral Home of Rogers.
