James L. Cooper

James L. "Jim" Cooper, 76, of Van Buren, Arkansas passed away on Tuesday, February 17, 2015 in Fort Smith, Ark. He was born in Fort Smith, Arkansas to James E. and Marguerite (Deckard) Cooper. He was a high school art teacher as well as an artist in his own right and of the Baptist faith. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, February 21, 2015 at Ocker-Putman Funeral Home with private burial to be in Woodlawn Memorial Park. He is survived by his wife, LaBetha Cooper of Van Buren, Ark., one daughter, Leslie Chambers and her husband Jeff of Little Rock, Ark; his sister, Donna James of Fort Smith, Ark. and two grandchildren Cameron and Caleb Chambers. The family will visit with friends from 4-6 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association 2408 South 51st Court Ste.
