Mrs. Marie Tolleson Walker of North Little Rock died February 16th, 2015. She was born in Caddo Gap, Montgomery County, Arkansas, the daughter of the late Allan J.Tolleson and Suevella Tolleson McCulloch. After graduating from Consolidated High School of Caddo Gap and Little Rock Business School, Marie Walker worked as an accountant for War Emergency Pipeline in Cincinnati, Ohio during World War II. One of her accomplishments was being awarded a lifetime membership in the PTA. In 1980, Mayor Casey Laman of North Little Rock appointed her to complete an unexpired term as Alderman of North Little Rock's Ward I. Mrs. Walker was a longtime member of Central Baptist Church in North Little Rock. Marie Tolleson Walker was preceded to death by her parents, three sisters: Hazel Corpier and Madge Millsapps of North Little Rock, Tina Cotton of Houston, Texas; and one brother, Lloyd Allan Tolleson of Arkadelphia. She is survived by her husband of 67 years, William Mason Walker, daughter, Karyn Walker Averitt of Houston, Texas, son William Mark Walker and wife Rosemary of Sherwood, four grandchildren: twin girls, Kameron Swithin and Walker Averitt of Houston, Texas, William Mark Walker II and Stephanie Walker of Sherwood. She was also survived by two nieces and two nephews. The family would like to express their appreciation and heartfelt thank-you to Clarissa Kitchen, Detria Ellis, and Frances Woods for all the care they gave her. Funeral services will be held Saturday, 2 p.m. February 21st, in the Chapel at Smith-North Little Rock Funeral Home. Family will receive friends one hour prior to services (1-2 p.m.).
