A. Lynn Poteet of Sherwood, born August 12, 1930, passed from this world Monday evening. She is preceded in death by her parents, Leo and Ruth Logan Wheatley and her loving husband, James L. "Jim" Poteet. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Ruth Anderson and Roger Anderson; her son and daughter-in-law, Jon Poteet and Leann Poteet; six loving grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Lynn was a generous provider to everyone she loved. It was the love that she gave that is the legacy Lynn leaves behind; but the partnership in marriage she shared with her husband Jim is an example to us all. Lynn cultivated a career in business during a time when the role for women in business was strictly prescribed by cultural expectations. Unconcerned with expectations, Lynn enjoyed a successful career in the offices of the Arkansas Water Conservation Commission, Governor Faubus, the Arkansas Attorney General's Office and as an executive assistant for Investor's Equity Life Insurance Company. Lynn, known as Maw or Woo, loved being with the family. Spending her youth in Sheridan, she she grew up in the country around cousins, aunts and uncles. Maw (Woo) lived a complete life and managed to stay in her home of fifty years until the end. While her passing saddens those who knew her, it is a comfort to know that she did not suffer and that she was able to live on her own terms till the end. Pappa Po and his ol' bag are back together again. May you both rest in peace. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Friday, February 27th at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills Funeral Home, 7724 Landers Road, North Little Rock with a private family funeral service to be held on Saturday, February 28th at 1 p.m. at Rest Hills. www.griffinleggettresthills.com.
