Lorraine Jordan

"It is not death to fling aside this sinful dust, and rise on strong exulting wing to live among the just." Such was the closing of life for Lorraine E. Hilliard Jordan on February 21, 2015. A retired teacher and lifelong member of Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Little Rock, Arkansas. Mrs. Jordan was the devoted and loving mother of Dr. Sybil Jordan Hampton (Alfred) and Leslie W. Jordan, Jr. (Esther). Family Hour from 6-7 p.m. on Monday, March 2, 2015 at Bethel A.M.E. Church, 815 West 16th Street, Little Rock, Arkansas. Burial at Mount Holly Cemetery on Tuesday, March 3 at 10 a.m., followed by an 11 a.m. Memorial Service at Bethel A.M.E. Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Leslie W. and Lorraine H. Jordan Charitable Endowment at the Arkansas Community Foundation, 1400 West Markham Street, Suite 206, Little Rock, Arkansas 72201. \ Scholarships from the charitable endowment will be awarded to students majoring in Mathematics and Math Education at Philander Smith College.
