Nettie Sue Bohannon Butler, 96, of Hot Springs passed away December 30, 2014. She was born on July 7, 1918 in Mineral Springs, Arkansas to Barney and Lida Walden Bohannon. Her marriage to J.C. Butler of Hot Springs, initiated her life in Real Estate and Hotel Management, owning The Sands Hotel as well as others in the Hot Springs area for over 30 years. She and her husband dedicated their lives to the business and social activities that Hot Springs had to offer. She realized one of her passing goals when she came back to Hot Springs a month ago. With her return to Hot Springs at age 96, she liked to relive the 65 years of joy living on Trivista and socializing with her friends and cousins from Little Rock. Her desire to move back to Hot Springs was in her words "the wonderful people that live there". While living in Assisted and Skilled Nursing facilities in Little Rock, she never lost her flare for clothes, jewelry and make-up. Only a week ago at the Lake Hamilton Nursing Facility, she requested a Santa Claus hat to wear during the Christmas party. She will be remembered for her love of parties with her many cousins in Little Rock before moving there 10 years ago to be cared for by family. She was predeceased by her brothers, Jack and William Bohannon of California and her sister, Hazel Britt, of Hope. She was a member of Leonard Street Baptist Church in Hot Springs. She leaves to cherish her memory, cousins, Charlene Phillips of Little Rock and Jane Phillips of Hot Springs. They were blessed to be her caregivers, in lieu of her many cousins scattered across distant parts of the country. Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Saturday, January 3, 2015 at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home with Rev. Donald Fritz officiating. Burial will follow at Crestview Cemetery. Guests may register at caruth-hale.com.
