Marion Christine Johnson Thomas, Missy to her friends, in the fashion of a classy lady, a true Christian and a minister's wife, went to meet her Lord on Sunday, December 28, 2014. She lived 91 wonderful years, passing away after a short illness. Missy was born in Marion, Kentucky, January 31, 1923 to William Leonard Johnson and Jodie Pearl Gray. She married James "Gig" F. Thomas, Sr. on December 9, 1939. After paying the preacher, Missy and Gig took their last ten cents and bought a fountain coke with two straws to celebrate. Missy and Gig had two sons, James F. Thomas, Jr. and William Shannon Thomas. Missy was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Gig; her son Bill; and her granddaughter Billie Michelle Davis. Missy is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Lou Thomas; her grandson and his wife, Michael and Debra Thomas; her grandson, William Shannon Thomas, Jr.; her great-grandson, Jamie Vaughn; her great-grandson, Jordan Nations; and her great-great grandson, Troy Nations. A viewing will be held at Proctor Funeral Home, Friday, January 2, 2015 from 4-6 p.m. Services will be held, Saturday, January 3, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at the First Assembly of God in Camden, Arkansas. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. It is requested in lieu of flowers, donations honoring Missy be made to Hendrick Hospice Care Center and Medical Center Foundation, 1900 Pine Street, Abilene, Texas 79601 or the charity of your choice.
