Doris Christine Weise, age 90, of Benton passed away Friday, Jan. 2, 2015. She was born June 21, 1924 in Pulaski County to John and Burlie Brown. She is preceded in death by her husband, Paul Weise; two brothers, Hiram and Wesley Brown and three sisters, Violet Johnson, Edna Mcmoran and Dorothy Williams. She is survived by her brother, Herald Brown and wife, Doris and her sister, Mary Willene Deaton and husband, VJ. She is also survived by her son, David Weise and two daughters, Paula Fontinel and husband, Duane and Janet Burks and husband, Kenneth; two granddaughters, Christy Lambert Trickey and Carrie Lambert Richey and husband, Scott; one step-grandson, Colby Fontinel and wife, Christy; four great-grandchildren, Joee Richey, Betsy Richey, Cade Trickey, Cason Trickey and three step-great-grandchildren, Colton Fontinel, Cassidy Fontinel and Calista Fontinel. Doris was a faithful member of the First United Methodist Church, where she started her service at age 13 as the secretary of the church in Bryant. Later she taught Sunday school for 2 year olds at Benton. She was the secretary at Howard Perrin Elementary for 28 years. Her life was full of love for her church and family. She also loved to laugh and travel. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 5 at Ashby Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 6 at Ashby Funeral Home, with burial at New Rosemont Cemetery. Rev. Daniel Thueson will be officiating. The family would like to give special thanks to her caregivers and special friends, Lois Vauss and Michelle York.
