Raymond Henry Smith passed into the presence of the Lord on Friday, Jan. 2, 2015. Raymond was born Aug. 8, 1923 in Lambert, Miss. He served in the Army during WWII and later served as a fireman and worked in the cabinet making industry. He was a gifted craftsman, gardener and loved hunting and fishing. He was a long time member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church. He was a hard worker and provided a Christian home for his wife and family. He was proud of his heritage and loved all of his extended family. He was preceded in death by his wife, Louise Wilson Smith; daughter, Alma Cox; parents, Marvin and Georgia Vallie Smith; sisters, Grace Crocker, Clytie Bennett, Ruby Linsky and Lodear Smith. He is survived by his brother, Rayford Smith (Annie Lois); children, Jerry Smith (Wanda), Ronnie Smith (Kit) and Wayne Smith (Jewel); six grandchildren, Joyce, Donna, Drew, Steven, Meleah and Zachary; six great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 10–11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2015 at Griffin Leggett Forest Hills Funeral Home, 10200 Highway 5 North, Alexander, Arkansas 72002. A funeral service will immediately follow visitation in the chapel of the funeral home. Burial will follow at Griffin Leggett Forest Hills Memorial Park directly across the street from the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations may be made to your favorite charity.
