Kenneth Bryant Helms Sr., age 81, of Arkadelphia passed away Wednesday, January 7, 2015 in Little Rock. He was born September 17, 1933 in Arkadelphia the son of Edgar and Clara Francis Helms. He received his Masters Degree from Oklahoma State University and taught at Lakeside High School in Hot Springs for over 30 years. His passion was agriculture and wood working. He was a strong Christian family man and caregiver who loved gospel music. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Harry Helms. Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Kathleen Cunningham Helms, one son, Kenneth Helms Jr. and his wife Angela of Arkadelphia, two daughters, Kayleen Ferguson and her husband Larry of Hot Springs and Kendra Franks and her husband Neil of Branson, Mo., seven grandsons, one granddaughter, and four great-grandsons and one great-granddaughter and a sister-in-law, Jeanna Helms of New Jersey. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, January 10th at Baring Cross Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Ronnie Hardin and Dr. Neil Franks officiating. Burial will be in the Richland Cemetery. Visitation will be 9:30 till 10:30 a.m. at the Church. Pallbearers will be Bryant, Kyle, and Stephen Ferguson, Alec and Austin Helms, and Nathan and Travis Franks.
