Carolyn Louise Dejarnette

Carolyn Louise DeJarnette, age 75, of North Little Rock, Ark. passed away Jan. 8, 2015. She was born April 19, 1939 in Houston, Texas to Mildred and Joseph Dejarnette and raised in Pine Bluff, Ark. Carolyn was the first female railroad engineer with the Cotton Belt Route, as well as having been a comedian and a corrections officer. She was an avid animal lover. She was an officer of the Southeast Arkansas Kennel Club. She enjoyed grooming, showing dogs and achieved two championships. She is preceded in death by her parents and she is survived by her sons, John "Kip" and Scott Capel; her daughter-in-law, Jackie Capel; sister, Joan DeJarnette; six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Memorial donations can be made to your local humane society or shelter. Her ashes will be laid to rest on her birthday April 19, 2015 at Graceland Cemetery in Pine Bluff, Ark.
