Johnnie Cathey-Phillips

Born Aug. 18, 1923, JOHNNIE CATHEY-PHILLIPS, 91, was greeted into the arms of her Lord and Savior on Jan. 4, 2015. Johnnie was a loving mother, friend and neighbor and such a lady. She had a positive influence on anyone she met. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Sherwood and volunteered at Baptist Springhill Hospital and the Hays Center for many years. Later in life, her friends at the Hays Center became her second family, she was there every day with a smile and positive attitude, willing to listen or talk. She loved her friends there and they loved her. Johnnie was preceded in death by Rex Cathey and William Phillips. She is survived by daughter, Melissa Cathey; son, James Williams; step-children, Rex Phillips, Millie Phillips, Elizabeth Krom, Joni Coyote and daughter of the heart, Carolyn Kincl. She will be missed by all who loved her. Visitation will be at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 13 at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills Funeral Home, 7724 Landers Road, N. Little Rock, with a memorial service immediately following. Burial will be private. Please sign the online register at www.griffinleggettresthills.com.
