Lila Kathryn McAlister

Lila Kathryn McAlister, 4, of Hot Springs, went home to Heaven on Jan. 9, 2015. Known by all as "Lila Kate," she was an angel on this Earth. Born on March 31, 2010, to Skip and Misty McAlister, she was the youngest of their three children. Her big brother, Thomas, and big sister, Annelise, were her favorite playmates and great protectors. She carried a big personality in a tiny body, never hindered by the medical challenges she faced. She was treasured by her family and will leave them forever changed and grateful for every second of their precious time with her. Lila Kate's absence will be felt by many, but most assuredly by her parents, siblings, and her grandparents, Jan and George Wright of Hot Springs and Russell and Shirley McAlister of Nashville, Ark., and her adopted "Nana and Pawpaw", Margie and Dan Depriest. She was loved by dozens of aunts, uncles, and cousins, who will all miss her sweet kisses and hugs. She was prayed for and loved by hundreds of family friends, all of whom were blessed by having known Lila Kate and having experienced her unique blend of spunk and innocence. Lila Kate's family wishes to thank the medical professionals who were instrumental in every aspect of her miraculous life, especially Dr. Greg Whorton, and the entire staff at Arkansas Children's Hospital. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you honor Lila Kate's memory by donations to Arkansas Children's Hospital, Lake Valley Community Church in Hot Springs, or Angels of Arkansas in Hot Springs. Visitation will be Sunday, Jan. 11, 2015 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lake Valley Community Church in Hot Springs. Services will be held on Monday, Jan. 12, 2015 at 4 p.m., also at Lake Valley Community Church. Brother Lamar Trieschmann will officiate, with Caruth Funeral Home handling the services.
