Martha Jean Browning Deal

Martha Jean Browning Deal, 85, of White Hall, Ark. passed away Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2015. She is survived by her daughter, Lynda Deal Williams (Warren "Smokey"); grandchildren, Jessica Williams Boyd (Patrick) and John Daniel "JD" Williams; great-grandchildren, Marcia Elizabeth and Christopher Warren. She is also survived by two sisters, Elizabeth Louise Davis and Marjorie Deyo. Seventeen nieces and nephews also survive her. Martha Jean was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jesse Saxon Deal and her daughter, Sharon Jean Campbell. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Charles Woodard Browning and Dorothy Ellen Thomas; her brother, Charles W. Browning and sisters, Vivian Joyce Apicella and Shirley Yvonne Kramer. Martha Jean was born Dec. 26, 1929 in Hinesville, Ga. and educated there. After marrying Jesse, a U.S. Navy officer, she lived abroad and in several states in America. Her greatest love was a five-year adventure in Taiwan, where she mastered the art of Chinese cuisine. The service was held at Trinity Episcopal Church in Pine Bluff, Ark., with burial at Union Cemetery in Pine Bluff by Ralph Robinson & Son Funeral Directors.
