Waymon Pearson

Waymon Pearson, 84, of Pine Bluff died Friday, Jan. 9, 2015. He was born in Dalark, Ark., son of the late Horace D. and Lena Copeland Pearson. Mr. Pearson was reared in Dalark and received his early education in Sparkman, graduating from Sparkman High School in 1949. He attended Henderson State Teachers College (now Henderson State University). He served in the United States Air Force. Mr. Pearson worked at International Paper Company for 33 years before retiring and was a member of the IP Quarter Century Club. He was a member of White Hall United Methodist Church, where he served as an usher for many years in the past. Besides his parents, Mr. Pearson was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Wayne Pearson. Survivors include his loving wife of 61 years, Dorothy Green Pearson, whom he married May 3, 1953; son, Michael W. Pearson (Donna) of Benton, La.a; two grandsons, Jordan Pearson (Heather) and their son, Barnes Pearson of Bossier City, La. and Jentry Pearson of Benton, La.; sister, Roxye Daniel (Jack) of Arkadelphia; sister-in-law, Irma Pearson of Irving, Texas; niece, Rita Patterson (Les) and nephew, Todd Pearson (Lauren). Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 12, 2015 at White Hall United Methodist Church, with Rev. Ben Crismon and Rev. Robert Langley officiating. Burial will follow in White Hall United Methodist Church Cemetery by Ralph Robinson & Son Funeral Directors. Visitation will be Monday afternoon from 1 p.m. until service time at the church.
