David Theodore Ferren

David Theodore Ferren age 89 passed away January 11, 2015. He was born on September 5, 1925 to Frank and Lizzie (Simpson) Ferren at Providence community in Judsonia. He was a Christian. Mr. Ferren was well known as a strong supporter and friend to former President Bill Clinton. Mr. Ferren gifted President Clinton with the combat medal he had earned while President Clinton was still in office. Mr. Ferren was a World War II veteran. He served our country from 1944 until 1946. He was awarded many military awards including the Purple Heart after being wounded during a battle in the Philippines. Mr. Ferren was a truck driver for many pipeline and missile base companies until he lost his eye sight in 1962. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Leo and Albert, sisters, Nina Martin and Zula Cullum and a son, David Douglas Ferren. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Floella (Hoofman) Ferren, a sister, Mary Sisk of Alabama, daughters, Venice (David) Yingling, Freda (Jackie) Davis, Sheila (Terry) Whitlow all of Providence, seven grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren other relatives and many friends. Mr. Ferren requested no funeral service or memorial service. He wanted everyone to remember his as he was and to know that now he is in heaven celebrating with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and his family and friends and he hopes to see you there. The family request that in lieu of flowers memorials be made to Wounded Warrior Project.Org. in memory of David Ferren.
