It was with heavy hearts that we said goodbye to Paul "Buster" Gentry, 87, on January 10, 2015. A native Arkansan, Buster was born March 1, 1927 to Cecil and Anna Heathscott Gentry in Higgison, Arkansas. In 1944, he began his 70 year marriage to Algarie King. As a US Army veteran, Buster proudly served during WWII. Upon his return home from the war, he and Algarie moved their family to Pittsburg, California where he spent over 30 years working for U.S. Steel. While living in California, Buster enjoyed fishing with his buddies in the San Francisco Bay, the Pacific Ocean as well as the Delta. In 1981, they returned to Arkansas to retire. Known for his flirtatious wit and his charming personality Buster enjoyed life. He loved to laugh, make others laugh, and tell a tale or two. He was a very generous man who would help anyone who needed it. He is preceded in death by his beloved Algarie; an infant daughter, Vertree Gentry; parents, Cecil and Anna Heathscott Gentry; sister, Dorothy Young, and brothers, Leon and Tom Gentry. Survivors include son, Paul Genty Jr. (Pat) of Woodland, California; daughters, Patricia Gerardo of Judsonia, Arkansas and Debra Padilla of Little Rock, Arkansas; nine grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and his faithful canine companion, Blackie.
