James Henry Lane, 82, of Enola, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, January 8, 2015 at Conway Regional Hospital. He was born January 25, 1932 in Guy, Arkansas to the late Walter Irving Lane and Myrtle Inez Keathley. He is also preceded in death by his sister, Evelyn Carter, brother, Lloyd Lane, nephew, Michael Lane and great-nephew, Justin Story. He was a Korean War Veteran who earned a National Defense Service Metal, United Nations Service Medal, China Service Medal, Korean Service Ribbon(1 Bronze Star) and a Letter of Commendation. He was on the USS Philippine Sea and the USS Point Cruz. He retired from Polyvend in Conway. He was a member of the United Methodist Church of Quitman. James is survived by his loving wife of 20 years, Stella Lane of the home, brother, John Lane, sister, Dorothy Brooks, stepdaughter from a previous marriage, Paulette Freeman, niece and caregiver, Magen Lane, and numerous other nieces, nephews and extended family and friends. Serving as pallbearers are Edward Black, Ricky Black, Chris Lewellen, Larry Freeman, Stephen James, and Doug Gaither. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, January 17, 2015 at Roller McNutt Funeral Home, Conway (501) 327-7727, with Bro. Charlie Cayton with 1st United Methodist Church in Heber Springs officiating. Burial will follow at Heffington Cemetery in Enola with Military Honors.
