Buena Schmidt Brown, 90, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away at her home in Floral, Arkansas, on January 14th. "Ms. Buena", as she was affectionately called by many, was born on April 10, 1924 to George and Grace Schmidt. She was a hardworking, energetic woman that loved her family and the people in her community. Buena always put other's needs before her own and in her younger years, worked as a teacher and a nurse. Immediately after WWII, she married the love of her life, B.L. Brown. For many years, they owned and operated Brown's Grocery in Floral where she also worked in the local post office as a clerk. "Ms. Buena" was an active member of Floral Baptist Church. Buena is survived by her husband of 69 years, B.L. Brown; their two sons, Daryl Brown and wife, Becky, of Floral, and Denny Brown and wife, Diane of Wooster; four grandchildren, Brent Brown (Carrie) of Wooster, Kent Brown (Mitzi) of Conway, Elaine Lambert (Michael), and Jeremy Robinson of Olathe, Kansas; four great-granddaughters, Callen Brown and Chandler Brown of Wooster and Kate Lambert of Conway, and Jessie Drew Cooper of Heber Springs; one great-great-grandson, Emerson Cooper of Heber Springs; one brother, James Schmidt (Carol) of Sand Springs, Oklahoma; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. She was also preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Ann Beaver; and three brothers, J.J. Schmidt, Christian Schmidt, and Floyd Schmidt. Pallbearers will be Keith Schmidt, Mike Guthrie, Michael Lambert, Jeremy Robinson, Brent Brown, and Kent Brown. Honorary pallbearers will be Eric Schmidt, Cameron Gay, Tommy Gay, Phillip Gay, and Scott Brown. Visitation will be Friday, January 16th at Roller-Crouch Funeral Home in Batesville from 5 to 7 p.m. Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday, January 17th, at Floral Baptist Church, Floral, with Bro. Mike Fowler officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Grove Cemetery under the direction of Roller-Crouch Funeral Home of Batesville.
