David Ray Eve, 60, of Jacksonville passed away January 13, 2015. He was born August 1, 1954, he was preceded in death by his father, Robert R. Eve and sister, Beverly Kay Eve Brooks. He is survived by his mother, Venita Sullivan Eve, also of Jacksonville. A graduate of Jacksonville High School, he received a BSE in Geology from the University of Central Arkansas in Conway. He served in the U.S. Army, with tours in Germany and Atlanta, Georgia. He had worked for many years as a teacher and counselor to troubled youths in the Eckard youth camps in central Florida, before returning to Arkansas. He was employed by Pathfinders Enterprises in Jacksonville. David was an avid reader and loved computer games that kept him in touch with his friends and relatives around the country. Funeral service will be held at First United Methodist Church in Jacksonville at 10 a.m. on Friday, January 16, 2015 With Rev. Scott Schafer officiating. Interment will follow in Rest Hills Memorial Park in Sherwood. Arrangements by Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home & Crematory (501) 982-2136.
