GENE TWITTY STINSON of Little Rock, Ark. went to be with her Lord and Savior on Jan. 8, 2015. She was born to Clarence and Donna Twitty on Oct. 23, 1925 in Allsboro, Ala. She is preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Handy. She was a member of St. Andrews Anglican Church and her faith in God was carried out by her actions to all those around her. She graduated from the University of Alabama in 1947 with a bachelor of arts degree. Gene was a high school English teacher in Alabama and loved seeing her students excel in their endeavors. She enjoyed her weekly bible study classes and enjoyed being around her church family. Her family was very important to her and she always made sure her daughters knew they were loved. Everyone that Gene came in contact with always got a big hug and knew they had her love. She is also preceded in death by a brother, Bradley Twitty; sisters, Hildred, Marceil,and twin sister, Ruth. She is survived by her sister, Merle Englebert of Huntsville, Ala.; three daughters, Melissa Jacobs (Michael), Lizanne Stinson and Jessica Lester; grandchildren, Max Lester, Nicholas Lester, Jason Malloy, Kate Malloy and three great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be on Friday, Jan. 23, 2015 at 10 a.m. in Forest Hills Memorial Park in Alexander, Ark., the Rev. Robert Cook officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Ruebel Funeral Home.
