Guy Dwight Sawyer Jr.

GUY DWIGHT SAWYER JR., 68, of Little Rock, Ark. passed away Jan. 15, 2015. He was born in Augusta, Ark. on March 4, 1946 to the late Guy Dwight Sr. and Gladys Sawyer. Dwight graduated from Mabelvale High School. On Aug. 16, 1964, he married Ann Shipp in Little Rock. In 1977, they purchased Sawyer's Market from his father, where he owned and operated the business the past 37 years until he retired in 2014. He was a charter member of St. Andrews Methodist Church and a member of the Board of Directors of Affiliated Foods. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Ann Sawyer; two sons, Buzz Sawyer (Joy) of Bryant, Ark. and Rick Sawyer (Carra) of Little Rock; five grandchildren, Tyler, Tara, Turner, Trent and Tessa; sister, Debra Sawyer of Akron, Ohio, along with many special lifelong friends. Dwight's passions were fishing, fishing and FISHING! He enjoyed traveling and attending his children and grandchildren's athletic events where he rarely missed one. His customers knew him to be generous and compassionate. He truly had a great affection for all of them. Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 18, 2015 at Roller-Chenal Funeral Home.
