Kimberly Dia Chudy, 45, of North Little Rock passed away Monday, January 19, 2015. The loving mother, wife and daughter died peacefully in her sleep following a long and courageous fight to remain on this earth with her family and friends as long as humanly possible. All who knew her considered themselves blessed. Her accomplishments were many. After obtaining a Masters Degree in Biological Sciences from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, Kimberly attended the University of Arkansas Medical School in Little Rock. She was the former Director of Instruction/Education with the Veterans Administration at the time of her retirement. She was instrumental in the development of the Veterans Administration tele-medicine program...just one of the many special programs she orchestrated in her tenure at the Veterans Administration. Even with the challenges of a long and difficult battle with increasingly complicated heath issues, she leaves a legacy of programs developed under her capable, inspired and caring guidance that have now been adopted in the medical mainstream. She will be sorely missed by, not only her family, but her colleagues and peers who worked with her and who loved her for the unique skills and talents she brought to the task and her genuine and impeccable character. She is survived by her husband of 10 years, Dennis Chudy; son, Ryan Baber, both of North Little Rock; stepson, Adam Chudy, of Houston, Texas; daughter, Caroline Coplin, of North Little Rock; mother, Sandra Bridges, of Mayflower; father, Robert Bridges, of Eudora, Arkansas; brother, James Bridges, of Dallas, Texas; sister, Brandy Bridges-McLaughlin, of Menlo Park, California; Father-in-law, Anthony Chudy Sr., and Mother-in-law Orah Lee Chudy of Marche, AR; grandmother, Opal Imogene Montgomery, of Mayflower; grandfather Murrel Montgomery of Mexico, and special family friend, Richard Cooper. A visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Thursday at Smith – North Little Rock Funeral Home with a graveside service following at 1:45 p.m., Thursday at Immaculate Heart of Mary Cemetery.
