Olivia A. Rogers

Olivia A. Rogers, 96, of Pine Bluff died Monday, January 19, 2015, at Jefferson Regional Medical Center. She was born March 10, 1918 in Selma, Arkansas, to Charles D. and Lena Harvey Appleberry. She lived in Selma, Tillar and Grady, before moving to Pine Bluff in 1951. She was a graduate of Tillar High School. Mrs. Rogers was a member of First United Methodist Church, where she had taught Kindergarden, was a member of the Allegro Hand Bell Choir, and was a faithful volunteer. She had also been a member of the Pine Bluff Chapter, D.A.R., and the Pioneer Club. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband of over 50 years, James T. Rogers. Survivors include her children, Mike Rogers of Westmont, Illinois and Linda Leslie of Lawton, Oklahoma, two grandchildren, Joseph Leslie of Covington, Washington, Marie O'Donnell of Denton, Texas and four great-grandchildren, Rachel Snider, James Snider both of Portsmouth, Rhode Island, Sarah Snider of Denton, Madison Leslie of Covington, and a great-great-grandchild, Niko Steinmetz of Denton. Funeral services will be Friday 11 a.m. in the Chapel of Ralph Robinson and Son, with Reverend Fred Arnold officiating. Burial will follow in Graceland Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Robinson's, from 10-11 a.m. Friday. Memorials may take the form of donations to First United Methodist Church, P.O.
