John D. Henderson, 74, of Greenbrier, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, January 20, 2015. He was born September 13, 1940 in Greenbrier, Ark. to the late John E. Henderson and Julia Merritt Henderson. John was a Christian and a veteran of the United States Army. He was an avid hunter who also enjoyed fishing, working on his farm, and spending time with his family. John was owner and operator of Henderson Steel for over 40 years. He was recognized on a national level for his work in the construction industry. Through his many travels he made many friendships that have lasted a lifetime. John was a very unselfish person who loved to help others. He was a loving husband, father, brother and friend and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. John is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Carolyn Bradford Henderson, son, Jon Ross and his wife Lindsay of Conway, brother, Jerry N. Henderson and his wife Carolyn of Greenbrier, daughter, Tammy Smith and her husband Bo of Plumerville, two nephews, Brian Henderson and Shannon Henderson and one niece, Jayla Ruple, three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday January 23, 2015 at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Greenbrier (501) 679-2575, with Bro. Carl Thomason and Bro. Daryl Black officiating. Burial will follow at East Shady Grove Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Brian Henderson, Shannon Henderson, Jeremy Ruple, Peter Guerin, Brice Gill, and Cody Lewis.
