Clarence Oxford, age 77, of Mountain Home, Arkansas passed away Tuesday, January 20, 2015, in Mountain Home. He was born October 1, 1937 in Fayetteville, Arkansas to Ray and Angie (Bishop) Oxford. Mr. Oxford was a 22 year veteran of the United States Air Force and served in the United States, Thailand, and England, where he met the true love of his life, Shirley Lewellyn. Clarence and Shirley moved all over the United States before settling in Fayetteville, Arkansas 1976 and then Milton, Florida in 1984. Clarence relocated to Mountain Home in 2005 and happily spent his time helping friends and neighbors. He had a very kind heart and generously gave his time and money to anyone needing a hand. Clarence enjoyed spending time with his family, watching his grandchildren play sports, and had a love for animals of all kinds. Mr. Oxford is survived by his six children; Clarence Michael Oxford (Janet) of Fayetteville, Leroy Oxford (Luanna) of Fayetteville, Tim Oxford of Mountain Home, Kevin Oxford (Penny) of Mountain Home, Suzanne Oxford Selph (Willard) of Waldorf, Maryland, and Lloyd Oxford (Ericka) of St. Peters, Missouri; grandchildren Jeremy Oxford (Kim), Peter Oxford (Kate), Sheilah Oxford Cornwell (Jared), Derek Oxford (Ashlie), Sarah Oxford Parks (Darrell II), Collin Oxford, Conner Oxford, Cooper Oxford, Brittney Selph Mattox (Danny), Devin Selph, Emilee Selph, Ty Oxford, Landon Oxford, Braydon Oxford, Payton Oxford, Savannah Oxford; great-grandchildren, Jackson Cornwell, Collins Cornwell, Addyson Oxford, Darrell Parks III, Adam Parks, and Bailey Parks He is also survived by one cousin, Ramona Yarbrough. Clarence was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Shirley April Lewellyn Oxford, and his siblings Kathleen, Lloyd, Leroy, and Dale. A Gathering of Friends will be 3 p.m. Friday, January 23, 2015 at St. Andrews Episcopal Church. Memorial service will follow at 4 p.m., with the reverend James McDonald, officiating. Interment will be in private. Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of North Central Arkansas. Arrangements are by Twin Lakes Cremation Society and Funeral Home.
