Janice D. Tucker

Janice D. Tucker of Sherwood, Arkansas passed away Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at home surrounded by her loving family after a lengthy illness. She was born September 23, 1937 in Warsop, England. Predeceased in death by her husband, MSGT James Cole Tucker of Sherwood; her long time companion, Jimmy G. Mullins of Benton; her parents, Herbert and Irene Dilley and sister, Jackie Hadaway all of Great Britain; daughter-in-law, Virginia Tucker of Little Rock and father-in-law, Hentson Tucker of New Mexico. She is survived by her adoring children; three sons, Robin Tucker of Little Rock, David Tucker and Gerald Tucker (his wife Christine), all of Sherwood; her daughter, Karen Sanders of Olathe, Kansas; her much loved and adored grandchildren, Justene Tucker and Cole Tucker of Sherwood and Ashley Sanders of Shawnee, Kansas; sister, Dorothy Walker (her husband Harold); brother, Trevor Dilley and brother-in-law, Eric Hadaway all of Great Britain. She is also survived by four nieces; Beverley Heald, Katy Purvis, Stephanie Nall, and Wendy Downes; and nephew, Grant Walker all of Great Britain; extended family, Ronnie and Leoda Mullins and Karen Guttery all of Benton; Goddaughter, Lakin Pitts of North Little Rock; many extended family members from Great Britain and the many friends in her life. She was passionate about her family, her animals, and her English garden. She helped start the Runyan Acres Volunteer Fire Department and continued to serve as a board member for thirty eight years. The family would like to thank her special caregivers Ty Ellison of Sherwood Rehab and Stephanie Balentine and Brenda Myers of Gentiva Hospice. In lieu of flower donations can be made in the memory of Janice to the Rock City Rescue, 2513 McCain Blvd. Ste. #176, North Little Rock, Arkansas 72116. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday at Smith-North Little Rock Funeral Home. Interment of the urn will be at 1 p.m. in Little Rock National Cemetery.
