Geraldine "Jeri" Mae Strode

Geraldine "Jeri" Mae Strode, 84, of Rogers passed from this life Jan. 23, 2015 at Circle of Life Hospice Home in Bentonville. She was born Jan. 22, 1931 in Peoria, Ill. to William and Florence Summers Long. Jeri never knew a stranger and she greeted everyone with her beautiful smile. Her quick wit kept family and friends laughing and wondering what she will do next. Her love for the Lord was evident in the way she lived. Jeri will be remembered for her strength and unconditional love. Her love for life and will to live are evidence that you can do anything you set your mind to. Jeri is predeceased by her parents, her husband and her daughter, Elaine Phillips. Jeri is lovingly remembered by her children, Julie Spencer of Naples, Fla., Ruth Tabor and her husband, Lyle of Carlock, Ill., Dyane Phillips and his wife, Angie of Rogers and Janet Phillips and her husband, Marlin of Bentonville; her brothers, Walter Long and his wife, Loraine of Springdale and William Wright of Mission, Texas; 13 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. The visitation will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Jan. 26, 2015 at Westfield Chapel Funeral Home in Springdale. The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. following the visitation. Interment will follow at Fairview Memorial Gardens. In lieu flowers, the family requests donations be made to Circle of Life Hospice, 901 Jones Road, Springdale, Arkansas 72762.
