Paul G. Fisher passed away quietly at home on Friday, Jan. 23, 2015 at the age of 83. He is preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Margaret Jean Fisher; parents, Robert and Virginia Fisher; brothers, Bobby Fisher, James Fisher; disters, Erma Bain, Margaret Sanders; infant, Bettie Jo Fisher and dear friend of the family, Matthew Cannatella. Paul is survived by a brother, Tommy Fisher Sr.; nephew, Tommy Fisher Jr. and wife, April; their son, Colton Fisher; four nieces, Ginny, Dorothy, Barbara and Gail; three nephews, Frank, Bobby and Stephen and special friends, Joni and Jim Cannatella and Chris and Heather Cannatella. Paul was born near England, Ark. on Jan. 16, 1932. He is a U.S. Army Veteran and was honorably discharged and returned to England. He and Margaret were married in 1954 in Lovington, N.M. and managed a restaurant in Hobbs, N.M. They then made their home in Lake Village in 1958, where they managed the Lakeshore Restaurant and later the Lake Village Country Club and the Pro Shop. Paul was elected to the office of Chicot County Assessor in 1971 where he served 16 years and was then elected as Chicot County Judge in 1987 and served until his retirement in 1998. He was a loyal supporter of Chicot County, the State of Arkansas and the U of A Razorbacks. Paul was a member of the Lake Village Jaycees, the Lake Village Chamber, the Razorback Foundation, the Association of Arkansas Counties and the Men's Golf Association. He was one of the founding members of the Lake Village Country Club and the Museum of Chicot County. Paul was an avid hunter, fisherman, golfer and cook. He enjoyed travelling and history and was a fan of all Razorback sports. Paul was a member of the Lake Village Baptist Church. Visitation will be held Monday, Jan. 26 from 6–7:30 p.m. at Bishop-King Funeral Home, with funeral services on Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2015 at 11 a.m. at the Lake Village Baptist Church. Burial will follow at the Lake Village Cemetery under the direction of Bishop-King Funeral Home of Lake Village. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Lake Village Baptist Church and the Museum of Chicot County, AR (MOCCA).
