Watson Irvin Smith

Watson Irvin Smith, 101, passed away peacefully Jan. 23, 2015. Watson was preceded in death by his wife of 73 years, Nancy Celeste Towery Smith; his parents, Thomas and Roxannah (Swafford) Smith; brothers and sisters, Odus, Brewer, Aubie and Leister Smith, Sarah Ward, Unah Tucker, Dora Bonds and three infant siblings. Survivors include three children, Thomas Gale (Mary) Smith of Hot Springs Village, Margaret (Ray) Earnhart of Shirley and Joan (Kelly) Verble of Hot Springs; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Also, his brother Boyd Smith of Hooks, Texas. Funeral service will be Monday, Jan. 26 at 2 p.m. at the Shirley Church of Christ. Burial will be at the Eglantine Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Watson Smith Memorial Scholarship Fund at First Service Bank. www.olmstead.cc
