Wanda Grisham

Wanda Grisham passed away at her home in Mountain View on Sunday, January 18th, after a long struggle with cancer. She was surrounded by family and went peacefully into heavenly rest. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Johnnie, and their five children: Beth Bryant of Madison, Mississippi; John Grisham Jr. of Charlottesville, Virginia; Kenny Grisham of Collierville, Tennessee; Mark Grisham of Chelsea, Alabama; and Wendy Grisham of Nashville, Tennessee. She is also survived by eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was born Wanda Louise Skidmore on January 29, 1934, in Monette, Arkansas, the third of four daughters of Lawrence and Margarite Skidmore. She is survived by two sisters: Billie Cockrum of Mountain Home, Arkansas; and Sammie Pate of Monette, Arkansas. Wanda was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Mountain View, and of The Gideons International. She was a humble servant who spent many hours ministering to women in jail and prison. Her world was centered on her faith and family. She will be laid to rest in a private burial service. The family asks that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to The Gideons International, P.O. Box 140800, Nashville, Tenn. 37214, and the First Baptist Church of Mountain View, Arkansas.
