Barbara Ann "Babbie" Ferguson, age 55, of Mountain View, Ark., (formerly of Altheimer), passed away on Saturday January 17, 2015 at Baptist Medical Center. She was born in DeWitt, Ark. on August 26, 1959. The doctor that delivered Babbie told her parents that he had delivered a "beautiful pink rose." At age 17, Babbie battled Hodgkin's lymphoma, and as a result, she was unable to have children. The Lord blessed her with a most precious gift of a daughter. Babbie spent the rest of her days on earth in awe of this most precious gift teaching her daughter love, courage, respect and all she knew. She lived life to the fullest with her daughter, Clancey, from deer hunting to traveling the south as Clancey has grown up and become known as the "Princess of Bluegrass." Babbie lost her battle with health problems following complications from heart surgery, but she will without doubt continue with Clancey on her fiddling journey and forever have a front row seat. She is survived by one daughter, Clancey Aaron Ferguson; her parents, Billie and Jake Young, all of Mountain View, Ark. and a host of friends. She was preceded in death by her brother, Duke Aaron Young. A memorial service will be held in Mountain View, Ark. at First Baptist Church on Saturday, January 31, 2015 at 2 p.m. A graveside service will be held in DeWitt, Ark. at DeWitt Cemetery on Monday, February 2, 2015 at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorials be made to the Clancey Ferguson Educational Fund, Attn. Renee Story, c/o Centennial Bank, P.O. Box 1228, Mountain View, Ark. 72560.
