Jewel D. "J.D." Thomas Jr., 83, of Rogers passed away Tuesday, Jan. 27. He was born to the late Jewel D. Thomas Sr. and Lola Thomas on September 24, 1931 in Dallas, Texas. For more than 62 years he was the loving husband of Patsy June Thomas. After painting water towers as a young man he moved on to a career in manufacturing where he later retired. He was always an avid fisherman and sports fan rooting hard for the Razorbacks and the Dallas Cowboys. At 79, he was proud to be the youngest member of the Dirty Twenty fishing club. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Jean Watkins. Survivors include his wife, Patsy Thomas; daughter, Karen (Steve) Kelly of Siloam Springs; sister, Pat (Jim) Miles of Texas; two grandsons, Jeremy (Andrea) Bertschy of Centerton and Casey Kelly of Siloam Springs; and four great-grandchildren, Jaxon Bertschy of Centerton and Bekah, Rylee and Fletcher Kelly of Siloam Springs. Visitation will be Friday from 6pm-8pm and the Funeral will be Saturday, at 10 a.m. in the chapel of Rollins Funeral Home in Rogers with interment to follow at Benton County Memorial Park.
