Shirley Pippen Green

Shirley Pippen Green, age 95, of Malvern passed away Saturday, January 24, 2015 at the Forum at Memorial Woods Nursing Facility in Houston, Texas. Shirley was born on November 1, 1919, in Crossett, Arkansas, the daughter of the late Lee C. and Kate Roberson Pippen. She graduated from Fountain Hill High School. Shirley married Thomas G. Green. He predeceased her in 1997, after 50 years of marriage. Shirley worked for the Bell Telephone Company as a telephone operator for many years, retiring in 1957. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church. She belonged to the Senior Sunday School class and numerous church circles. Shirley was an avid bridge player, loved working with her flowers and had a passion for reading. She also enjoyed TV game shows. Shirley is survived by two daughters, Marilyn (Lewis) Bloise of Painted Post, New York and Deborah (Alan) Frink of Houston, Texas; seven grandchildren, James L. (Adrianne) Scott, Suzanne Black, Kathryn Scott, Tamra Richmond, Kelly (Vin) Pinkston, Heather (Dan) Blatt, Tracy (Dr. Peter) Deveugle; 12 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, Shirley was predeceased by her sister, Lucy Pippen; daughter, Patricia Allen; grandson, John Michael Scott; great granddaughter, Haley Scott Fraser and son-in-law, Dr. Dewey Allen. Family and friends are invited to visitation on Friday, January 30, 2015 at Regency Funeral Home from 4-6 p.m. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, January 31, 2015 at 11 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church with Reverend LaVon Post officiating. Interment will be held after the service at Pine Crest Memorial Gardens in Alexander, Arkansas. Pallbearers will be Lewis Bloise, Alex Frink, Jimmy Scott, Evan Fraser, Vin Pinkston and Ken Green. In lieu of flowers, Shirley has requested memorial donations be made to the First United Methodist Church of Malvern, 127 East Page, Malvern. Arrangements are by Regency Funeral Home.
