Mary Maureen Brown

Mary Maureen Brown, age 83, of Cabot, passed away Monday, January 26, 2015 at home. Mary Maureen was born January 27, 1931 in Widnes, England to the late Tommy and Florence Cafferty of Ann St., Widnes, Lancashire, England. She was preceded in death by two infant sons; son, Lt. Col. (Ret.) Preston Barney Brown; five brothers, Matthew, Tom, Albert, Ted and James. She is survived by her husband, CMSgt. (Ret.) J.P. Brown of Cabot; five daughters, Maureen (Lanny) Hall of Round Rock, Texas, Grace (Matt) Carmichael of Decatur, Alabama, Jane Ann Brown of Cabot, Paula (Gary) Price of Jacksonville, Amy T. Brown of Jacksonville; grandchildren, Allen, Melissa, John, Emily, Rebekah, Philip, Zachary, Xavier, Hannah, Jacob and Caleb; five great-grandchildren. Mary Maureen was raised in Widnes and Farnworth, England. She met her husband while working at the RAF Burtonwood in 1952 and they were married on June 13, 1953 at the base chapel by Chaplain Captain Walter Huber. Mary Maureen will be greatly missed by her husband, family and friends. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Friday, January 30, 2015 at St. Judes Catholic Church in Jacksonville. A Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday at St. Judes Catholic Church with Father Andy Smith officiating. Interment will be at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery in North Little Rock. The family requests memorials be made to Arkansas Hospice or the charity of your choice.
