William E. "Bill" Harrison

Mr. William E. 'Bill' Harrison, age 84, of Forrest City, Arkansas, died Monday, June 29, 2015, at the Phil & Flo Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro, Arkansas. He had been in poor health for the past several months. Mr. Harrison was born October 9, 1930, in Rural Steele, Missouri, and was the son of Edward William Harrison and Ruby Donaldson Harrison. He lived in Forrest City most of his life, was owner of Allstate Insurance in Forrest City, retired in 1990 from the Arkansas National Guard as a Command Sergeant Major, and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Forrest City. Mr. Harrison married Alice Joy Jones in 1950, and she preceded him in death in 1990. He married Joy Collins in 1997, and she survives him along with five sons; James Harrison of White Hall, Edwin Harrison of Harrisburg, William Edward Harrison III of Wynne, Samuel Cooper Harrison of Richmond, Kentucky, and Michael Ward Harrison of Cabot, one daughter, Donna Lynn Laseter of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, two step-sons; Ben Pruitt Jr. of Memphis, and Jason Pruitt of Lakeland, Tennessee, three step-daughters; Traci Beene of Marianna, Catherine Howe, Tunica, Mississppi, and Darden Grigsby of West Memphis, nine grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. He had one grandchild, Edd Harrison, and one brother, Jerry Harrison, who both preceded him in death. Visitation will be Thursday, July 2, 2015, beginning at 1 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Forrest City, Arkansas. A memorial service will follow at 3 p.m. with Stevens Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. A graveside service will be held Friday, July 3, 2015, 12 noon, at the Mt.
