George W. "Bill" Keene Jr., 69, of Cabot died Thursday, July 2, 2015 at home surrounded by his wife and friends. He was born Feb. 6, 1946 to Mary Knox Keene and the late George W. Keene Sr. Following in his father's footsteps, Bill retired as a Senior Master Sergeant, serving his country 22 years in the United States Air Force as an aviation mechanic. When tested by the Air Force, Bill ranked high in aviation mechanical skills. His special skills resulted in his two-year tour in Vietnam. After his service, Bill worked for and retired from ABF Trucking after 12 years. Bill enjoyed building race cars and rebuilding cars and trucks with is son, Cody. Bill was a family man and said that love was not as strong enough word to describe how he felt about his wife, Marsha. In addition to his father, Bill was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Ann Moors. Mr. Keene is survived by his wife of 44 ½ years, Marsha Burton Keene, his mother, Mary Knox Keene, his son, Cody Keene, his daughter, Tiffany Keene and his grandson, Jacob Keene. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, July 6, 2015 in the chapel of Moore's Cabot Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 9:30 a.m. Burial will follow at Arkansas State Veteran's Cemetery under the direction of Moore's Cabot Funeral Home (501)843-5816.
