Jerry Terrell, 66, of Austin, was healed on Sunday, July 5, 2015 and is now rejoicing in his eternal Heavenly home. He was born on January 17, 1949 in Hamilton, Alabama to Velma Flora Mitchell and Charlie Terrell. Jerry was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. After 22 years of service, he retired from the United States Post Office to pursue his passion as a full time Southern Baptist Minister. Jerry was a loving mentor and teacher. He shared his faith, his heart, his home, and his family with everyone. He never met a stranger. He had a good sense of humor and loved to laugh. His legacy will live on in those he helped and cherished. Jerry is survived by his wife of 37 years, Regena Hoff Terrell; children, Cindi Terrell, Danny Burnette and wife Marti, Misty Baugh, and Jeremiah Terrell and wife Jana; brothers and sisters, Thomas Terrell, Geraldine Howard, Randall Terrell, Aubrey Terrell, and Evelene Berry; grandchildren, Kayci Dawson, Sarah McCown, Hunter, Logan, and Payton Burnette, Lucian Baugh, Brennen and Kannon Terrell; five great grandchildren; as well as extended family and friends. Also missing him is his dog, Cagen. He is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers and two sisters, Hugh L., Charles, Wilma, and Velma Terrell. Funeral service will be Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at 2 p.m., at Second Baptist Church in Jacksonville with Dr. Tim Deahl and Brother Steve Zumalt officiating. Burial will follow the service at Mount Carmel Cemetery in Cabot. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 7 from 6-8 p.m., at the church, as well as Wednesday prior to the funeral.
