Maggie Orfanos Bischof Cecil, 95, of Hot Springs, danced her way through Heaven's gates, led by her Savior Christ Jesus on July 11, 2015. Maggie was born Dec. 31, 1919 in Hoxie, Ark. and moved to Hot Springs, Ark. at an early age when her father, John Orfanos, opened the National Café in Hot Springs. Maggie was the daughter of Ida Humphreys Orfanos and John Stomas Orfanos. Maggie graduated Hot Springs High School in 1937 and married Rudy Bischof, Sr. in 1939. Three sons were born of that marriage. Maggie is predeceased by husband, Rudy Bischof, Sr.; second husband, Richard Bartlett Cecil; and daughter-in-law, Sherry Rothchild Bischof. After Rudy passed away, Maggie enjoyed a fulfilling career as a teller for First Federal Savings and Loan where she served and enjoyed her many customers that she considered her friends. In 1966, she married Richard Cecil who was the love of her life and an extra special Paw Paw to all the grands. She is survived by Rudy Bischof, Jr. of Little Rock; John Barry Bischof (Lise) of Houston, Ark.; Robert David Bischof (Diane) of Hot Springs; grandchildren: Bill Bischof (Maia), Ben Bischof, Barrie Elizabeth Torrey (John), Katie Bischof Boguslawski (David), Caroline Bischof Howse (Nathan), John David Bischof and Jess Bischof,; and five great-grandchildren. Maggie was a faithful member of First Lutheran Church since her marriage in 1939. Serving her church and her community was of utmost importance to Maggie. She taught Sunday School and was the youth group leader for more years than we can count!! She was a member of the Century Club, Hot Springs Emblem Club, and The Dancing Ambassadors. In addition, she was a faithful volunteer for the Jackson House, National Park Medical Center, and The Caring Place, along with many other organizations! Our Maggie was a loving, caring mother and grandmother that made her church, her family, and her community the foundation of her life!! She will be greatly missed by all of her family and friends. The family wishes to express deep and sincere appreciation to Peggy Allen, special friend and caregiver and the many special caregivers at Crown Trace. A service will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at First Lutheran Church, 105 Village Rd., Hot Springs. A visitation will be at 10 a.m. prior to the service. Burial to follow at Crestview Cemetery. Pallbearers will include Bill Bischof, Ben Bischof, John David Bischof, Jess Bischof, David Boguslawski, Nathan Howse, and John Torrey.
