Lois J. Loyd, 80, went to be with her dear Lord and Savior on July 11, 2015. Lois was born in Cypress Valley, a small community near Vilonia, Arkansas on January 9, 1935 to the late Kolb Angus and Eva Loretta Ingram. She was a very devoted Christian and a member of Hot Springs Baptist Church where she taught second grade Sunday school for many years. Lois is predeceased by her parents, her older sister Faye Dean Ponte, her first husband Cpl. Juan B Woodcock, her father and mother-in-law Bill and Inez Loyd, brothers in-law Dewey Loyd and Carrol Guillory, son-in-law Willis Teegarden, nephew Jimmy Banks, nephew Jerry Schultz, great niece Crystal Baker. She graduated from North Little Rock High School in 1952 and later attended Ouachita Baptist University, where she met her loving husband of 55 years, William Richard Loyd, Jr. Lois did her practice teaching in Hot Springs, at Jones School under the direction of the late Mamie Ruth Abernathy. Lois was an exceptional piano player. She taught public school music to many children over the years, in Arkadelphia, McCrory, Hickory Ridge, Corning, Murfreesboro, Arkansas and retired from Lake Hamilton Elementary in Hot Springs in 1988. She was a tireless disciple and great example of faith, strength and courage in living her life as a beautiful child of God. Survived by her devoted husband, William Richard Loyd, Jr., children, Lori Eliason and husband Geoff Eliason, Ginger Teegarden, Buddy (Wm. Richard Loyd III) and wife Megan Loyd all of Hot Springs, Grandchildren Nicholas Loyd of Ft. Collins, Colorado and Jagur Eliason of Hot Springs. Her brother, James (Sonny) Ingram and wife Pat Ingram of North Little Rock, sister-in-law, Donna Loyd & family of Bothell, Wash. sister-in-law, Dianne Guillory & family of Shreveport, La., brother-in-law, Stan Loyd and wife Nelda Loyd and family of Nashville, Tenn., sister-in-law, Paula Navin and husband John Navin & family of Lake Steven, Wash., niece, Gale Banks of North Little Rock, great-nephew, Jason Banks & family of North Little Rock, great-niece, Joy Bailey & family of Las Vegas, Nev., niece Lynn Bloor and her husband Randy Bloor of Hot Springs, great-nephew, Sean Goodin of Austin, Texas, several dear cousins, several other beloved and precious nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Lois had so many lifelong and cherished friends from everywhere she lived, worked or went to church. The Sunday school students, to whom she taught songs she wrote to help them remember all the books of the bible. She has touched many lives sharing her love of music and God. Lois was known and will always be remembered for her sweet smile and kind nature and devotion to God and her family. She and her husband were tireless visitors to the sick. Lois could play anything on the piano as well as the autoharp, transpose to any key, play by ear or by music. She never missed the annual Christmas choir program at OBU. She loved her pets, taking naps and old movies. She was the best wife, mother, grandmother that anyone could hope for and loved her family beyond measure. Above all she loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and was a faithful servant of God, honoring Him in all she did. So many thanks are owed to so many special people who helped along the way through her unexpected illness; her niece Gale Banks and Tommye Bishop her best friend and college roommate. Without them we could not have made it through and they were always there right when she needed them most. The many close friends that were faithful visitors and church members. Also, great affection for all her caregivers and Dr.'s and nurses, Arkansas Hospice team and the staff and nurses at The Atrium at Serenity Point. Everyone, too many to mention, has gone above and beyond to help our family in so many ways and we are eternally grateful and will never forget you. We are humbled by the many ways God has shown us Grace through this journey. Visitation will be Thursday, July 16th from 6-8 p.m. at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home in Hot Springs, Arkansas. Services will be Friday July 17th at 2 p.m. in Caruth-Hale chapel. Burial will be at Crestview Memorial Park in Hot Springs, Ark.
