Todd A. Benjamin, 52, of Austin, Arkansas, died Wednesday July 8, 2015 near Emerson, Nebraska as a result of an automobile accident. Todd was born June 30, 1963 in Peru, Indiana to Peter and Donna Benjamin with high hopes of becoming a Rockstar. We can't win ‘em all! Todd was a spicy child growing up, constantly competing with his older brother, Bryan, and picking on his younger sister, Gail. His parents had good reason when they grounded him to the front yard for an entire summer. He graduated from Burke High School in Omaha, Nebraska in 1981. Remember the old adage, "you married up?" Well, Todd sure did that in more ways than one when he met and married Linda Lehmkuhl on August 8, 1987. Todd entered military service on October 6, 1987. He spent 20+ years in the civil engineering career field stationed at various locations around the globe. This included California, Guam, North Dakota, the family favorite-Germany, and lastly Little Rock, where they made their home. During his 21 years of service, Todd had a few deployments and received numerous decorations medals and citations. Todd was an avid learner and reader with an incredible sense of humor. He always had his face in a history book, though his family might have liked it if he tried a Cooking book or Laundry 101 every once in a while. His greatest accomplishment was his family. His wife of 28 years was extremely blessed to have a partner to enjoy in this journey called life. They had three children together: Andrew, 26, an Electrical Engineer, Amalie, 24, a Director of Nursing, and Peter, 20, a Restaurant Manager. He was constantly bragging on these three. However, his two grandkids, Reese, 5, and Macie, 3, were the center of Grandpa's heart. Visiting "The Pancake House" (Sawbucks) and going to the Air Base to see the planes every Saturday morning will never be the same. Todd is survived by his wife, Linda Benjamin; his children, Andrew and Kayla Benjamin of Ward, Amalie Benjamin of Memphis, Tennessee, Peter Benjamin and Paula Iglesias of Ward; his grandchildren, Reese and Macie Benjamin of Ward; his mother Donna Benjamin of Blaine, Minnesota; his brother Bryan and Chris Benjamin of Omaha, Nebraska; his sister, Gail and Doug Hiatt of Blaine, Minnesota; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He is preceded in death by his father, Peter Benjamin. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, July 16, 2015 at Moore's Cabot Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Arkansas State Veteran's Cemetery. Arrangements are by Moore's Funeral Homes and Crematory (501) 982-2136 or (501) 843-5816. Please sign the online guestbook at www.mooresJacksonvillefuneralhome.com.
