Lloyd Eugene Simmons Jr.

MSgt. Lloyd Eugene Simmons Jr. USAF (Ret.) age 68, of Austin went to be with his Lord on Thursday, July 23, 2015. He was born Oct. 23, 1946 in Pope, Miss. to Loyd Simmons Sr. and Nathlene Simmons. He served in the United States Air Force for 20 years. After his retirement he worked in Civil Service for 15 years. He was a gift of God, an answered prayer; that truly shows that God knows what he is doing. He was a loving father and husband. He was preceded in death by his father, Loyd Eugene Simmons Sr., siblings, Buddy Simmons and Ray Simmons, and his step-father, Charles Dempsey. He is survived by his loving wife Margaret Cydney Eichbrecht Simmons, his sister Sandy Bishop, three sons, Jeffrey Eugene Simmons, Richard Lynn Simmons, Michael David Simmons, his mother, Nathlene Dempsey, grandchildren, Michael Simmons, Patrick Simmons, Mason Simmons, Crystal Kitchens, and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Monday, July 27, 2015 at Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 28, 2015 at Our Shepherd Lutheran Church in Searcy. Interment will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Park in Jacksonville with military honors.
