Inez Bratton Brown

Inez Bratton Brown, 87, of Hot Springs, passed away July 24, 2015. She was born Oct. 25, 1927 in Hot Springs to Lee and Malissie (Johnson) Bratton. At age 16, she moved from Mt. Tabor to Hot Springs and worked at the Army/Navy Hospital. Inez also spent time working for Lake Catherine Shoe Company and as a manager for the Arkansas State Revenue Office. She was a wonderful homemaker and worked as a caregiver for several years. Inez was an active member of Harvey's Chapel Baptist Church where she enjoyed working in various children's ministries. She also worked with several political campaigns. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, A.D. Wilson Brown; brothers, Bill, Joe, and Doug Bratton; sister, Laverne Noles; and son-in-law, Bob Borden. Loving survivors include sons, Larry Brown (Patricia) of Hot Springs and Garry Brown of Hot Springs; daughter, Cindy Borden of Rogers; brother, B.Q. Bratton (Reba) of Hot Springs; grandchildren: Theresa Collier of Claremore, Okla., Jeremy Brown (Sara) of Hot Springs, Melanie Brown of Hot Springs, Christie Brown-Perry of Mountain Pine, and Kristin Mobley (Mark) of Louisville, Ky.; great-grandchildren: Zak and Abby Brown, Austin and Seth Perry, and Crystal Avery; great-great-grandchildren, Vanessa DeVaux and Jeremy Avery, Jr.; and many nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held Monday from 6-8 p.m. at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Harvey's Chapel Baptist Church of Hot Springs with Pastors Buddy Lemons, Joe Thompson, and Horace Gray officiating. Burial will follow at Buckville Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Mark, Shane, Stevie, Duncan, Tim, Reggie, and Rick Bratton; Rick Threadgill; and Kenneth Johnson. Honorary pallbearers are Boyd Curtis, Mike Bratton, Jim Pitts, Lee Johnson, Jerry Townsend, Autry Basham, Bobby Jines, Fred Loyd, Harold Brown, Donnie Brown, Craig and Delma Peterson, Dr. Michael Carney, and the staff of Jamestown Nursing and Rehabilitation. The family would like to extend sincere appreciation and gratitude to Inez's special friend and caregiver, Cathy Townsend. She treated Inez with love, respect, and kindness while making her last two years enjoyable. Memorial Donations can be made to the Harvey's Chapel Baptist Church.
