Our adored Mother, Maelyven Lacy Fells, was transitioned to Glory on Sunday, May 24, 2015. She was the fifth child born to Booker T. and Dorothy Davis Lacy on May 13, 1928. Those preceded her in death are parents; son, Joe Fells; brother, A. J. Lacy; sisters, Donnie Mae, Dorothy Jackson, Jewel Jackson; and a granddaughter, Cherrise Lewis Robinson. As an Elect Lady of God, her memory shall forever be cherished by her husband of 70 years, Roosevelt Fells; two sons, Nathaniel Fells (Pankye) of Little Rock, Ark. and Samuel Fells of Dumas, Ark; seven daughters: Ocie Lewis (Isaac) and Linda Newburn, both of Little Rock, Ark., Deborah Hampton (Willie), Jacqueline Washington (Arnell), both of Dumas, Ark.; Aletha Madden (Ronald) of Liberal, Kan., Melanie Racy (Kenneth) of Fort Smith, Ark., and Kimberly Fells (Memphis, Tenn.); two brothers, John Lacy, Sr. and David Lacy of Dumas, Ark.; five sisters: Vert Lee Holden of Dumas, Ark., Jean Wilson, Shirley Peyton, Earnestine Verser, and Nan Lenon, all of Chicago, Ill.; 34 grandchildren; 52 great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends. The family graciously thanks the doctors, nurses, and staff of Arkansas Children's Hospital Burn Unit for compassionate and exceptional care of our mother. Celebration Services will be held at 1 p.m. on June 2, 2015 at St. Peter's Rock Church, 1500 Cherry Street, Dumas, Ark. Services entrusted to Brown's Funeral Home, 510 Jones Street, Dumas, Ark.
