Mary Menotti Grassi

Mary Agnes Menotti Grassi, age 90, of Lake Village died Sunday, May 31, 2015 at Chicot Memorial Medical Center in Lake Village. Mrs. Grassi was born March 12, 1925 in Pine Bluff, Ark. She is the daughter of the late Alexander and the late Albina (Cingolani) Menotti. She married Johnny E Grassi in 1948, and helped Mr Grassi run Johnnys Food Bank for over 60 years. She was employed by St. Mary Catholic School as the Cook. She enjoyed cooking for the children, faculty and her family. She was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Village Ladys Altar Society and Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church. She was predeceased by her husband, Johnny E. Grassi on September 1, 2010. Predeceased by her two sister, Angie Menotti Cirili, Virgina Menotti Rocconi, four brothers, Mike Menotti, Chester Menotti, Johnny Menotti, and Fred Menotti. She is survived by one daughter: Pat Grassi Douglas and husband, Larry, of Lake Village, and two sons: John Rodney Grassi of Lake Village, David Lamar Grassi and wife, Carol, of Warren; one sister, Hazel Menotti Turchi of Pine Bluff; seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and host of nieces, nephews and friends. Visitation is 6-7 p.m. Tuesday, June 2, 2015 at Bishop-King Funeral Home in Lake Village. A Mass of Christian burial will be held 12 noon Wednesday, June 3, 2015 on at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Lake Village, with Father Theopilus Okpara as Celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Isidore Cemetery under the direction of Bishop-King Funeral Home of Lake Village.
