Paul H. Evens, 83, of Victoria passed away on Monday, May 25, 2015. He was born on December 24, 1931 in Plainview, Ark. to the late James Gerald Evens and Lorene Pelt Evens. Paul served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict and then went on to earn his degree in electronics and retired from Lucent Technology. He is survived by his daughters, Delores Evens White of Victoria, Texas; Diana Evens Reichert of Victoria, Texas; Elaine Howe of South Beach, Ore.; Paula Evens DeGraf of Petaluma, Calif.; sons, Paul W. Evens of Plainview, Ark., Donald Evens of Lolita, Texas; Jimmy Owens of Lolita, Texas; sisters, Lillian George, Geraldine Goodin both of Denham Springs, La.; brother, Roland Evens of Garland, Texas; 20 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Mr. Evens was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Lindsey Evens and his son, Nathan Christopher Evens. Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 31, 2015 from 2-5 p.m. at Rosewood Funeral Chapels in Victoria, Texas. A visitation will be held in Russellville Arkansas on Wednesday, June 3, 2015 from 6-8 p.m. at Humphrey Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, June 4, 2015 at the Plainview Methodist Church in Plainville, Ark. with Rev. Melanie Tubbs officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow at the Salem Cemetery in Plainview, Ark. Pallbearers will be James Robinson, Mark Paul Robinson, Carl Evens, James Evens, David White and Stuart Harrison.
