Sister Mary Reginald, RSM. It is with sadness but with great joy we announce the death of Sister Mary Reginald, RSM. Sister Reginald died early morning of June 1, 2015 at the age of 102. She entered the Sisters of Mercy Community on October 27, 1930 and took her final vows in 1936. She served at Mercy Hospital Fort Smith as well as the old hospital down town for over 40 years. She was known and loved by many, both locally and across the Mercy Ministry. The majority of her years at Mercy were spent as the leader of the Dietary and Catering Department. Sister Mary Reginald was originally from Newfoundland, Canada and is survived by her brother Matt (Josephine) and many nieces and nephews and her Sisters of Mercy. She is preceded in death by her parents John and Elizabeth Mooney. All services will be held at Christ the King Catholic Church 1920 S. Greenwood Avenue. Rosary will begin at 9:30 a.m. with the Funeral Mass to follow at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, June 5, 2015. Condolences may be sent to the Sisters of Mercy 1300 Strozier Lane, Barling, Arkansas 72923. Pallbearers will be Jerry Presson, Bill Buergler, Jerry Stewart, Martin Hoyt, Ken Rusin, and Bill Hunter. Honorary pallbearers will be the Mercy Associates of Barling and Fort Smith.
