William Russell Cook

William Russell Cook, 89, of Alexander, passed away June 9, 2015. Born in Muskogee, Oklahoma to James and Ruth Langcaster Cook, he was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He was a member of the VFW and the American Legion. Preceded in death by his parents and his wife of 65 years, Frances Maurine Cook. He is survived by his son, William R. Cook Jr. of Mena; daughter, Vivian Ann Fritts and husband, Douglas of Lonoke; brothers, Gordon E. Cook of Russellville and John H. Cook of Tahlequah, Oklahoma; sisters, Cravens Hogue of Muskogee and Marjorie Kerr of Ft. Smith; and grandsons, Barry Fritts of Little Rock and Jimmy Cook of Mena. There will be open visitation from 9 a.m. to 12 noon on Friday, June 12 at Little Rock Funeral Home, 8801 Knoedl Ct. (NW corner I-630 and Barrow Rd.). Graveside services with Military Honors will follow at 2 p.m. at Pinecrest Memorial Park in Alexander, officiated by Dr. Bob Dunaway. Arrangements by Little Rock Funeral Home, (501) 224-2200.
